Most theories of the pathogenesis of borderline personality disorder have been based on retrospective case histories of patients in psychiotherpay. But recently, many theories of the etiology of borderline personality disorder are appearing in the varies medical articles. The authors have reviewed some articles in relation to etiology of borderline personality disorder in biological, developmental, and familial perspectives.
